As the colder months settle in, the City of Hunter has closed the park bathrooms for the winter season. This annual closure helps protect the facilities from damage due to freezing temperatures and ensures that they remain in good condition for our residents to enjoy in the warmer months.
Why We Close the Bathrooms in Winter
Each year, the City of Hunter shuts down the park restrooms to prevent frozen pipes and damage caused by harsh winter weather. By taking this step, we can keep maintenance costs down and prepare the facilities for the busy spring and summer seasons ahead.
We appreciate your understanding as we take these preventive measures to maintain the park amenities.
Alternative Facilities
While the park restrooms are closed, public restrooms are still available in the Community Center:
- Hunter Café during business hours
- Hunter Library for library visitors
Please plan accordingly if you’re visiting the park for outdoor activities this winter.
Looking Ahead to Spring
The park restrooms are scheduled to reopen in early April, weather permitting. We will announce the exact reopening date on the City of Hunter website, Hunter Facebook Page and the community bulletin board inside the Community Center.
In the meantime, the park remains open for those who want to enjoy the crisp winter air, take a walk, or visit with friends. We encourage residents to continue using the park while being mindful of the colder conditions.
