City Utility Bills
The City of Hunter bills for Water, Sewer, and Solid Waste.
- Solid Waste pickup is curbside, Friday mornings.
- Water, sewer, and solid waste are regulated by city ordinances.
Utility Fees

- Water Meter Hookup – $100.00 (non-refundable)
- Water Meter Deposit – $150.00 (refundable)
- Sewer Service Charge – $6.50 per month
- Maintenance Charge – $10.00 per month
Utility bills are due by the 10th of each month. If unpaid, a 20% penalty will be charged. There is a returned check fee of $30 per check.
Disconnect date for non-payment is the 10th of the following month. A $100.00 reconnect fee in addition to the current account balance must be paid in full before utilities will be reconnected.
New Utility Accounts
A Utility Deposit of $150 is required for all new utility accounts.
Utility deposit is refunded upon written notification of move out.
A service connect fee of $100 is also due before utilities will be turned on.
Dog/Cat Fees & Penalties
Dog/Cat Registration Fees
- Registration fee: $10.00 per pet
- No more than 4 dogs and 2 cats per household

Penalties
- Failure to register: $15.00
- Dog/Cat at Large with Tag
- $25.00 – 1st Offense
- $50.00 – 2nd Offense
- $100.00 – 3rd Offense and impounded
- Dog/Cat at Large without Tag
- $50.00 – 1st Offense
- $100.00 – 2nd Offense
- $200.00 – 3rd Offense and impounded
Any impounded animal will be taken to the closest veterinarian and will incur any boarding fees associated with the impound.
